Seat Ibiza vehicle recall

July 5, 2012

Volkswagen Group Ireland is recalling a number of Seat Ibiza cars produced between April 2010 and December 2011.

The reason for the recall is due to an issue with the bonnet release lever. After operation this lever may prevent the bonnet from closing correctly and therefore may cause the bonnet to open while driving.

The recall affects 1,938 Seat Ibiza Vehicles in Ireland with the following chassis numbers:

Seat Ibiza: VSSZZZ6JZAR164905 – VSSZZZ6JZCR095685

What to do:

Letters will be sent to owners of the affected vehicles and customers will be asked to arrange an appointment to have the required work completed at their authorised Seat service agent.

The required work will take approximately 2 hours. Any work carried out as part of this recall will be free of charge.

Consumers who are concerned that they may be affected by the recall can contact Seat customer service on the lo-call number 1850 812 763.
