Mitsubishi recalls certain ASX, Outlander, and Outlander PHEV passenger vehicles

May 25, 2021

Mmc Commercials Unlimited Company is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Mitsubishi ASX, Outlander, and Outlander PHEV passenger vehicles.

The affected vehicles were produced during 2015 (ASX) and 2016 (Outlander and Outlander PHEV).

A safety issue has been identified with the affected vehicles where on some parts the anti-rust coating (Fluorine) of the ramp shaft for rear parking brake may peel off by assembly variation. Water might penetrate inside and rust the shaft. As the result of continuous use, the rust will erode into the internal caliper and the shaft becomes stuck, causing parking brake force decreased. The parked vehicle may move and cause accident.

There are approximately 361 affected vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.

What to do:

Mmc Commercials Unlimited Company will directly contact all affected customers by post advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer where any necessary repairs/replacements of parts will be carried out.

If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, then you can contact Mitsubishi’s Contact Centre through their web form here.
