Jeep Ireland recall Cherokee and Commander

January 13, 2016

Jeep Ireland are carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the Cherokee and Commander.

The ignition key may jump to the ‘off’ position while driving.  If this happens, the engine, the power steering and the power-assisted brakes may cut out, and the air bags may be deactivated.

No accidents have been reported anywhere in the world.

Vehicles manufactured between 2005 and 2007 are affected.

There are 439 affected vehicles in Ireland.

What to do:

Letters will be sent by Jeep to the owners of affected vehicles informing them of the recall and asking that they arrange for an appointment to have the required work completed.

If you do not receive a letter from Jeep or if you need any further assistance, please call them on their phone number: 01 4034400.

Any work carried out as part of this recall will be free of charge.
