The CCPC is the statutory body responsible for enforcing and promoting compliance with competition, consumer protection and product safety law, with new and expanding roles in digital and data regulation. In order to keep the public informed and empowered, the CCPC uses its social media channels to:

  • Raise awareness about consumer rights and financial literacy.
  • Alert consumers when dangerous products are recalled from Irish markets.
  • Amplify the work of our research, advocacy, compliance and enforcement teams.

Following and sharing

The CCPC may follow accounts which are of relevance to its work. Please note, following an account is not an endorsement of that account. Equally, sharing or liking a post is not an endorsement of the original content.

Moderation and feedback

While the CCPC welcomes comments, discussion and feedback on its social media accounts, it reserves the right to delete comments and report accounts that:

  • harass or intimidate any individual or organisation 
  • are unlawful, defamatory, abusive or threatening 
  • are harmful, sexually oriented, or racially offensive
  • are deceptive or misleading 
  • discuss ongoing legal proceedings
  • are not relevant to the content posted
  • constitute spam or promote or advertise products
  • are designed to cause nuisance to the page administrator or other users

For serious or persistent breaches of the moderation policy, the CCPC reserves the right to prevent users from posting further comments and will block accounts if considered necessary.
