Why we put this list together
Empowering students and learners with essential financial literacy skills is at the heart of the Our Money, Our Future initiative. To support you in this work, the CCPC has put together a list of useful links and resources to help in the planning and creation of engaging financial literacy projects.
Financial literacy organisations:
- The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission; we have a wealth of information in our Manage your money section.
- International Network for Financial Education (INFE); INFE promotes financial education through Global Money Week each year
- Central Bank of Ireland; The Central Bank of Ireland has a useful Consumer Hub which features articles and explainers on financial topics
- Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI); The JAI features second-level financial education programmes such as JAI Finance Park
- Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS); MABS has a useful blog with information on financial topics as well as intuitive money tools
- Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU); The ILCU runs a school quiz with participating credit unions as well as an online quiz
- Revenue; Revenue recently launched a Transition Year programme on taxation
Circular economy and sustainability
- Energy in Education (SEAI and DES) Energy in Education is a programme that encourages schools to improve energy use practices
- Stop Food Waste Stop Food Waste run awareness-raising initiatives to share easy tips and resources on how we can make the most of our food
- Green Schools Programme Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community to promote sustainability initiatives
- Rediscovery Centre
Rediscovery centre has a range of resources on the circular economy including interactive workshops for secondary classes
