BIF II Irish Wind Limited is a s special purpose vehicle formed for the purposes of acquiring SWS Natural Resources Holdings Limited. Irish Wind is owned by Brookfield Renewable Energy LP (BRELP) and BIF II ENA AIV (Cayman) (BIF). Both BRELP and BIF are controlled by Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (BAM). BAM's assets are largely concentrated in the property, renewable power generation, infrastructure and private equity sectors.

SWS Natural Resources Holdings Limited consists of the renewable business assets and liabilities of Bord Gáis Eireann which were transferred to SWS in accordance with two statutory transfer plans (relating to Irish renewable business assets and liabilities) and a transfer deed (relating to non-Irish renewable business assets and liabilities).
