The proposed transaction whereby eircom Limited, which trades as eir (“eir”), would acquire sole control of Setanta Sports Channel Ireland Limited (“Setanta Ireland”) and certain assets and the business of Setanta Sports Hibernia S.à.r.l. (“Setanta Hibernia”) from Setanta Sports Broadcasting Limited (”SSBL”), has been cleared by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
