Towering Leisure Limited, trading as The Shire (‘the trader’), was required under the relevant legislation to display a price list for certain foods including beverages (other than alcoholic beverages) sold to the public for consumption on the premises. During an inspection at the trader's premises at The Shire, Michael Collins Place, Killarney, Co. Kerry, the CCPC found the trader to be in breach of this requirement.

The CCPC served a Compliance Notice on the trader, which took effect on 21 April 2025, directing it to display, in a clearly visible and legible form, a notice in accordance with the relevant legislation, to be displayed immediately outside or immediately inside each entrance open to the public to the part of the premises used for the purpose of selling food (including non-alcoholic beverages) by retail to the public in such a position as to be clearly visible and easily accessible to, and in such form and manner as to be capable of being easily read by, any persons using the entrances and specifying the price of certain food including non-alcoholic beverages, together with their price.
