Tesco Ireland Limited trading as Tesco Metro at Jervis Shopping Centre, Dublin 1, a trader operating this supermarket, was required to display the unit price of goods offered for sale.

During an inspection of their premises on 23 August 2023, the CCPC found the trader to be in breach of this requirement specifically relating to the failure to include unit pricing on Tesco Clubcard promotional shelf-edge labels.

On 24 June 2024, Tesco Ireland Limited entered guilty pleas in the Dublin Metropolitan District Court in respect of two summonses relating to Regulation 5(1) of the European Communities (Requirements to Indicate Product Prices) Regulation 2002.

Judge Anthony Halpin applied section 1(1) of the Probation of Offenders Act 1907, ordering the trader to pay the legal costs of the CCPC and a donation of €1,000 to the Little Flower Penny Dinners charity.
