Smor Hotels Limited trading as the Riverbank House Hotel ('the trader') was found, when inspecting the trader's premises at Riverbank House Hotel, The Bridge, Ferrybank, Wexford, to have engaged in a prohibited commercial practice (as described by the relevant legislation) by providing false information in relation to the price of certain drinks as displayed on the drinks menu. That information would be likely to cause the average consumer to make a transactional decision that they would not otherwise make.
The CCPC served a Compliance Notice on the trader, which took effect on 5 May 2025, directing it to remedy the contravention identified by ensuring that the pricing displayed on all signage and menus corresponded to the prices charged at the bar.
