Ionut Nitulescu, a car dealer of 11 Emerson Court, Prosperous, Co. Kildare W91 K266, has been convicted of an offence of misleading a consumer about the history of a second-hand car.
The investigation was opened following a complaint to the CCPC’s helpline in 2023. The CCPC brought a prosecution and on 07 July 2025 in the Naas District Court, Ionut Nitulescu pleaded guilty to one of the summonses. Ionut Nitulescu also agreed to pay compensation, of €8,700, to the consumer.
At the Naas District Court on Monday 05 January 2026, Judge Desmond Zaidan convicted Ionut Nitulescu of providing false information to a consumer about a vehicle's mileage and imposed a fine of €2,000. He also ordered Ionut Nitulescu to pay the CCPC costs of €7,011.00 within six months.
