Huntsman (Western) Bottlers Limited, (‘the trader’), was required under the relevant legislation to display a notice in the bar area specifying each kind of beverage (whether alcoholic or not), including quantities, measures or units thereof, and the price charged for same, which were on sale in the premises. During an inspection at the trader’s premises at The Huntsman Inn, 164 College Road, Galway, Co Galway, the CCPC found the trader to be in breach of this requirement.
The CCPC served a Compliance Notice on the trader, which took effect on 24 October 2025, directing it to display, in a clearly visible and legible form, a notice in accordance with the requirements of the relevant legislation. Such a notice is to be displayed inside the premises where the business of selling intoxicating liquor by retail for consumption on the premises is carried on and specifying each kind of beverage (whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic) on sale at the premises, together with the required information on the price charged for the quantities, measures, or units for each such kind of beverage as required by the relevant legislation.
