The CCPC found, when inspecting the trader’s premises at Nutgrove Retail Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin, that the trader had engaged in a misleading commercial practice by providing false information in relation to the price of a product and that information would be likely to cause the average consumer to make a transactional decision that they would not otherwise make.
The CCPC served a Compliance Notice on Harvey Norman Trading (Ireland) Limited which took effect on 01 November 2024 directing it to do the following:
- remedy the contraventions identified, as described by section 43(1) and 43(3)(c) and contrary to section 47 of the Consumer Protection Act 2007 to ensure that the price that consumers have to pay for the product matches the displayed price.
