ORTLIEB Sportartikel GmbH recalls F78113 Thru Axle M6 Connector
- Publication date:9 June 2026
ORTLIEB Sportartikel GmbH is carrying out a recall of incorrectly manufactured F78113 Thru Axle M6 Connector with batch number B242069.

The product presents a risk of injuries. For some F78113 Thru Axle M6 Connector 1.5 mm, the thread pitch was manufactured incorrectly. Instead, a 1.75 mm thread pitch was used. Installing the connector might damage the thread of your bike frame if you try to install it with considerable force. This may reduce wheel stability and lead to a fall or injury to the cyclist.
The bar code is 4013051059435. The batch number is B242069. The item number is F78113.
Only some of the manufactured products from this batch number B242069 were affected. So please make sure to check the thread of these products either by measuring the pitch or comparing it to your original thru axle.
There are approximately 11 products in the Republic of Ireland which might be affected.
The product was sold by the following retailers:
- Cyclesuperstore, 31 Airton Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24
- Penny Farthing, 81 – 82 Camden Street Lower, Dublin 2
What to do:
Customers should stop use immediately. If your axle is from the affected batch, compare the thread pitch with that of your original axle. If the result differs, your axle is likely affected by the manufacturing defect. Do not try to install an axle with the wrong pitch.
If you have a faulty axle or are unsure, please contact the Ortlieb service team directly (email: ortlieb@lyon.co.uk or telephone: +44 (0)15396 24040). You will receive a free replacement or a refund for the incorrectly marked product.
