CCPC submission to the DECC consultation on private wires

Submission of the CCPC to the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications consultation on private wires. In its submission, the CCPC recognises the merit in permitting private wires as a way to introduce more choice in the electricity market and to potentially increase the speed of delivery of infrastructure projects. However, it will be important that the many challenges that private wires may create are adequately addressed before they can be permitted. The submission suggests that many of the challenges could be addressed by permitting them on a phased basis.
