Submission of the CCPC in response to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment’s public consultation on the EU proposal for a directive on liability for defective products. In its response the CCPC put forward observations on a number of proposed changes to the current Product Liability Directive (85/374/EEC), including the updated definition of ‘product’ to cover digital products, the introduction of rules on liability for products manufactured outside the EU and the removal of the monetary threshold of €500 for property damage.
