Summary findings include:
- While 60% of Irish adults have some form of pension, a significant 26% remain completely unprepared.
- One-third of pension holders regret not starting their contributions earlier.
- 21% of 45–54-year-olds have no retirement arrangements.
- 36% of pension holders are unsure how pensions work.
- 66% have never spoken to a financial advisor.
- More than half of those with a pension lack confidence in its ability to provide a good standard of living in retirement. Pension ownership is lowest among.
- 18 to 24-year-olds (18%), but worryingly, 21% of those aged between 45 and 54 report having no retirement arrangements in place.
