How to complain

If you are unhappy with the investment advice you received or any other aspect of the service from your financial adviser, investment firm or any other financial services provider, you should:

  1. Put a complaint in writing to them setting out your issue and how you would like them to resolve it.
  2. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, you then have two options depending on whether the financial service provider is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland or not.

If the financial services provider is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland you can escalate the complaint to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman.

If the financial services provider is not regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland you may need to seek independent legal advice to pursue the complaint further.
