Volkswagen Group Recall Audi Q3

Volkswagen Group Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Audi Q3 models that were produced between June 2014 and November 2016.

Audi AG has established during on-going product quality analysis that if the driver of the car uses the Electric parking brake switch to perform an emergency stop the brake lights may not activate as required. This is due to a software error in one of the vehicles control units. In the affected vehicles a software update is required.

This affects 336 cars in Ireland.

What to do:

Audi Ireland will be writing directly to relevant Q3 owners to arrange to have their vehicles updated. The letter will advise owners to contact their nearest authorised Audi service centre, which will carry out the check, and if needed, any rectification free of charge.
