Toyota recalls Corolla, Auris, Yaris and Urban Cruiser – Updated notice

January 21, 2016

Toyota have updated the status of their original notice which was published on 27 November 2014.

Toyota Ireland has issued a voluntary recall of certain Corolla, Auris, Yaris and Urban Cruiser models produced between April 2008 and November 2013.

Due to insufficient air flow in the engine’s intake system at low engine speed, oil may accumulate in the intercooler. Under certain driving conditions, the oil could be forced into the combustion chamber by the turbocharger. This could lead to engine damage and increase the risk of a fire in the engine compartment.

There are 16,788 vehicles affected in Ireland.

What to do

Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved to arrange to have the repair carried out by their local dealer / authorised repairer at a time convenient for them and at no cost to the owner.

If you have a query you should contact your local Toyota Dealer/Authorised Repairer or Toyota Ireland directly on 01-419 0222.
