Toyota recall of multiple vehicles

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of various models. The affected vehicles are:
RAV4
- Manufactured between Oct 2004 and Nov 2008
- Airbag warning light may illuminate and in addition driver’s airbag may become de-activated
- 3197 affected vehicles in Ireland
Hilux
- Manufactured between Feb 2005 and Apr 2010
- Airbag warning light may illuminate and in addition driver’s airbag may become de-activated
- 1422 affected vehicles in Ireland
Yaris (1)
- Manufactured between June 2005 and May 2010
- If seat rail spring breaks, front seat(s) will not lock into adjusted position
- 3316 affected vehicles in Ireland
Yaris (2)
- Manufactured between Sep 2005 and Feb 2009
- Crack may occur in steering column bracket and column may tilt out of position
- 9 affected vehicles (Yaris T-Sport) in Ireland
Urban Cruiser (1)
- Manufactured between Oct 2008 and May 2010
- If seat rail spring breaks, front seat(s) will not lock into adjusted position
- 160 affected vehicles
Urban Cruiser (2)
- Manufactured between Sep 2005 and Feb 2009
- Crack may occur in steering column bracket and column may tilt out of position
- 19 affected vehicles in Ireland
What to do
Letters will be sent by Toyota Ireland to customers informing them of the recall. The letter will advise customers to contact their nearest Toyota dealer, who will arrange to do the necessary refit free of charge.
