Toyota Ireland recalls certain ‘Proace’ Passenger vehicles

July 30, 2019

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of ‘Proace’ vehicles. The vehicles in question are manufactured between July 2016 and February 2019. There are 1027 vehicles affected in the Irish Market.

Toyota has established there is a possibility that in specific driving conditions (such as emergency braking combined with obstacle avoidance), the outside passenger seat belt of the front bench seat may unbuckle unintentionally. If this occurs, the passenger sitting in the affected seat would not be secured by the seat belt in the event of an accident. If this happens, this might increase the risk of injury.

What to do:

Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to those consumers affected by this recall to have the seat belt buckle inspected and replaced.

Consumers can check if their vehicle is involved in this voluntary Recall by contacting their local Toyota Dealer/Authorised Repairer or they can check-online through our website at www.toyota.ie/recall-checker.

Alternatively Consumers can contact Toyota Ireland Customer Relations on

01 419 0222.
