Siemens Tumble Dryer Safety Alert

Siemens has issued a safety alert on specific Siemens tumble dryer models manufactured in 2002.

Siemens have identified that an electrical component on a limited number of Siemens branded tumble dryers may overheat and in very rare cases cause a potential fire hazard component has failed. A total of 68 of these tumble dryers have been sold in Ireland through a number of retail outlets.

What to do

1. Check the model number. This information is printed on the rating plate of your tumble dryer. It is located on the inner side of the front door of your tumble dryer as well as at the back of the appliance.

  • WTXL720CGB
  • WTXL750CGB
  • WTXL720KGB
  • WTXL750KGB

2. If you have one of these models, or if you are unsure if you do, call Siemens on their free phone number 1800 855 833, (Monday to Friday 08:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 8.00am to 5.00pm, Sunday 8.00am to 5.00pm) for further information and assistance

3. You can also check online at www.siemens-home.com/tumbledryersafety and Siemens will arrange for an engineer to visit your home and make a free-of-charge repair.

4. As a precautionary measure, Siemens recommend that you use your tumble dryer only under supervision i.e. when someone is at home and not during the night.
