A safety issue has been identified with UPP Battery E-Bike Battery Packs sold on Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, Made in China and Desertcart.

The product presents a risk of fire. The product is poorly built with poor welding to connect the components. The battery management system is not sufficient to protect the product from overcharging, overheating and igniting.

The brand is UPP Battery. The model types are U004 and U004-1. The battery types are 18650 (U004) and 21700 (U004-1). The batch numbers and barcodes are unknown.

There are approximately 9 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. The product was sold online through Amazon, AliExpress and eBay. The product may have been sold on the Made In China and Desertcart web sites.
