Product Safety Information Notice on Petzl GYM/PANDION/PANJI Harnesses

A safety issue has been identified with Petzl GYM/PANDION/PANJI Harnesses.

The risk reported to CCPC is injuries. The harness can be put on backwards, and the rope or carabiner can be attached to a non-weightbearing leg loop elastic band. This places the user at a risk of falling from height and sustaining serious injuries.

The brand is Petzl. The Models are GYM, PANDION and PANJI.

The following table contains the harnesses that can be sent to the Petzl After Sales Service to have the leg loop plastic band replaced by the new design. For further details please see the ‘What to do’ section below.

There are approximately 812 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.   There are 582 units of the GYM model, 158 units of the PANDION model and 72 units of the PANJI model.

What to do:

Consumers should stop using the product immediately. To check if your product is affected by this recall, please review the Petzl safety notice.

If you have an affected harness, please return the harness to Petzl for a replacement leg loop elastic band. To do this, contact your local Petzl After-Sales service via  this contact form.
