HTI Toys are carrying out a recall of Stretcherz Toys. The products present a risk to health as the sand inside the product may contain asbestos. Asbestos is a banned substance across the EU because it poses a risk to health.

Affected products have been sold by Aldi, The Works, Tesco Ireland, TK Maxx / Homesense, Primark T/A Penneys, Dealz, Amazon and Smyths. Other retailers may also be affected. The CCPC will update this notice when more information is available.

What to do:

In line with the position in the UK, the CCPC is advising consumers who have the product in their home to do the following:

  • Stop using the product immediately.
  • Place the product in a heavy-duty plastic bag, seal it securely, label it clearly and store it in a secure location out of reach of children. Contact your local authority for advice on collection and disposal.
  • Prior to disposal contact your place of purchase to request a refund.
