Opel recalls certain ‘Astra-K’ passenger vehicles

A voluntary recall is being carried out on certain Opel Astra-K 1.6 diesel vehicles with manual transmission. The vehicles concerned were produced between 2016 and 2018.

Opel Automobile Ireland Limited has identified a safety issue, whereby, it is possible that extended pedal travel and a reduction in braking power (where the brake pedal is applied slowly and constantly) may occur in affected vehicles.

In the Republic of Ireland, approximately 2,735 Opel Astra-K passenger vehicles are affected by this recall campaign. Vehicle owners impacted by this recall campaign will be contacted directly by Opel Automobile Ireland Limited., and will be asked to bring their vehicles to an authorised repairer. Where necessary, repairs and/or replacement of parts will be carried out.
