Mitsubishi recalls Outlander

June 29, 2017

Mitsubishi Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the Outlander manufactured in 2014 and 2015.

Issue

A malfunction of the engine’s software has been detected and the spark plugs do not work properly. As a consequence, the main battery may not be charged and the driver may experience a loss of power causing the vehicle to stop which could create a hazard for passengers and other road users.

There have been 92 of these vehicles placed on the Irish market.

What to do

Initially, Mitsubishi will be contacting all affected customers to notify them that their vehicle needs to be refitted.  A second letter will then be sent out to notify the customer when to bring their vehicle into the workshop to have the necessary work carried out.  Should you need to contact Mitsubishi please use the following number: 1890 41 51 61.
