Kia Motors Ireland recalls certain passenger vehicles

July 16, 2020

Kia Motors Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of Sorrento and Carnival passenger vehicles.

The affected Sorrento passenger vehicles were manufactured from 2005 to 2008. The affected Carnival passenger vehicles were manufactured from 2005 to 2009.

Kia has identified the need to install a relay in the vehicle’s main junction box, to prevent power being directed to the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit when the ignition is turned off. Over a long time, it is possible that oil or water ingress may result in an electrical short circuit.

There are 1,565 affected vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.

What to do:

Kia Motors Ireland will be writing directly to those customers affected to advise of further steps.

If you believe your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, Kia Motors Ireland Customer Care may be contacted at (01) 460 1288.
