Ford Grand CMAX recall

March 4, 2011

Ford is carrying out a voluntary recall of its Grand CMAX models manufactured between 1 March 2010 and 14 January 2011.

This recall is being carried out due to an issue with the second row seating recliner locking mechanism.

It is possible that the seat latch can become damaged. If damage to the seat latch occurs, the seat can be forced into a reclined position without a passenger lifting the release lever.

In the event of a crash this could cause serious injury to passengers.

This recall involves 183 Ford Grand CMAX Model vehicles in Ireland.

What to do:

Letters will be sent by Ford Ireland to the owners of the affected vehicles asking them to return the vehicle to an authorised dealer to arrange for the required work to be completed.

The work carried out as part of the recall will be completed free of charge.
