Flymo recalls cordless trimmer battery chargers

Flymo is recalling battery chargers from two cordless grass trimmers supplied with the following models:

• Flymo Contour Cordless XT (serial numbers 9666768-01 and 9666768-27)
• Flymo Contour Cordless 500XT (serial number 9666769-01)

Flymo has identified a fault with the battery chargers supplied, which may result in the outer cover of the charger becoming detached, exposing the internal live parts.

This only affects products purchased between 1 January 2011 and 17 May 2011.

What to do:

If you have one of these products, switch it off at the mains supply immediately, and remove the charger from the socket, taking care not to touch any of the internal parts.

Consumers can contact Flymo’s customer service on 1800 882 350, 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, or check www.flymo.com for more information. Affected consumers will then be sent a replacement charger and a prepaid envelope to return the faulty item.

Consumers may need to have the product number and serial number available when calling – these can be found on the silver rating plate on the product.
