Briefing on window blinds safety

Invitation to manufacturers, importers, retailers, installers, engineers, representatives of users and other interested bodies for 29 November 2010.
There have been a number of accidents in Ireland and worldwide resulting in serious injury and death to children as a result of strangulation caused by the cord/bead mechanism of some window blinds.
The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and the National Consumer Agency (NCA) are holding a meeting with manufacturers, importers, retailers and installers of internal window blinds, along with representatives of users, engineers and other interested bodies, to discuss these issues with a view to eliminating the occurrence of such accidents.
