IKEA recalls PATRULL safety gates

IKEA Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of their PATRULL safety gates. 

IKEA has received customer reports where PATRULL safety gates have opened unexpectedly and children have fallen down stairs. Some of the incidents have required medical attention. A third party investigation has shown that the locking mechanism is not reliable, posing a risk for small children, despite approved tests to applicable standards.

Approximately 4,600 of these products have been placed on the Irish market.

What to do

IKEA urges customers who have a PATRULL safety gate to stop using it immediately and to bring it back to any IKEA store for a full refund, or call IKEA Customer Services on 01 5413302 to return your PATRULL safety gate for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
