Volkswagen recalls certain Skoda ‘Citigo’ and Skoda ‘Rapid’ passenger vehicles

Volkswagen Group Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Skoda,Citigo Rapid passenger vehicle.

The vehicles in question were manufactured between 29th March and 24th April 2017. There are 377 vehicles affected on the Irish Market.

A safety issue has been identified whereby, it is possible that the towing eye fitted to the vehicle may break. Any vehicle being towed is deprived of forward propulsion. As a result the tow- rope may strike a persons or objects.

What to do:

Volkswagen Group Ireland will be writing to all affected vehicle owners directly, advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer where the tow eye will be inspected and replaced.
