CCPC Conveyancing Research
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has published a baseline survey on consumer experiences of buying and selling a home. The research was carried out by Ipsos B&A and gathered information on consumers’ experiences of buying and/or selling a property in 2024.
The areas explored included:
• satisfaction with estate agents and solicitors during the conveyancing process,
• when consumers first engaged a solicitor for the purchase and/or sale,
• details of costs and how they were communicated,
• challenges encountered during the conveyancing process.
The survey was undertaken in response to a request in the report of the Housing for All Expert Group on Conveyancing and Probate.
