CCPC Submission to the Consultation on an Action Plan for Insurance Reform
Submission of the CCPC to the Department of Finance consultation on a new Action Plan for Insurance Reform. The plan will cover the period from 2025-2029 and it focuses on encouraging further competition in the market and working with stakeholders to enhance transparency and affordability across all types of insurance. In its submission, the CCPC outlined further areas of reform that are needed. This included consideration be given to how the Injuries Resolution Board can retain a greater proportion of claims for assessment. We also called for efforts to increase consumer engagement with the private health insurance market and to encourage switching behaviour in this market.
