In October 2015 a consumer contacted the CCPC stating that a car they bought from McCormack Car Sales, Dublin Road, Sligo, had a number of faults and other issues that they were not made aware of at the time they bought the car, such as the car had been involved in two traffic accidents in 2007 and 2009.
The CCPC carried out an investigation and McCormack’s Car Sales accepted all of the issues raised by the consumer and acknowledged that the car had been extensively damaged which the consumer had not informed about. They also accepted that the odometer reading at the time of the accident in December 2009 was significantly higher than when the car was sold to the consumer in 2014.
The CCPC and McCormack Car Sales Limited signed an agreement and undertaking in February 2016.
