Compliance Notice - The Dublin Mint Office Limited
The Dublin Mint Office Limited (‘the trader’) was found, when inspecting the trader’s website, https://www.dublinmintoffice.ie, to have engaged in a prohibited misleading commercial practice by providing information that would be likely to deceive or mislead consumers as to their cancellation rights in relation to distance contracts under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (‘the 2022 Act’). That information would be likely to cause the average consumer to make a transactional decision that they would not otherwise make.
The Dublin Mint Office Limited (‘the trader’) was also found, when inspecting the trader’s website, www.dublinmintoffice.ie, to have engaged in a prohibited commercial practice by making representations or creating the impression that cancellation rights already given to consumers under the 2022 Act were instead a distinctive feature of the trader’s promotion or supply to consumers. This practice is prohibited under the relevant legislation.
The CCPC served a Compliance Notice on the trader, which took effect on 7 November 2025, directing it to remedy the instance of misleading information provided to consumers on the website and to cease the prohibited practice of making a representation and creating the impression that rights given to a consumer under an enactment are a distinctive feature of the trader’s promotion or supply. The trader was also required to provide consumers with whom it concludes distance contracts, information with respect to consumers’ rights, in accordance with the 2022 Act.
