CCPC launches online financial education seminars for workplaces nationwide
August 17, 2020
In these unprecedented times, financial well-being is a growing focus for many workplace wellness programmes. Personal finances can be a cause of significant stress and anxiety for many. As part of its financial education role, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is now offering workplaces nationwide the opportunity to avail of its Money Skills for Life service – online.
Money Skills for Life is a free one-hour personal finance seminar for employees and members of community and trade associations. Now available online, the CCPC is encouraging all workplaces to take part and offer their employees the opportunity to learn the essential skills of personal finance management, from the comfort of their own homes.
Each talk is delivered remotely by an expert presenter and covers a number of topics – from budgeting, saving, insurance and borrowing money to planning for retirement, including pensions. The CCPC actively engages with employers and training co-ordinators prior to the seminar, so that the content can be tailored to meet the needs of participants. Delivered via a communications platform of choice (Zoom, MS Teams, Google Hangouts, etc.) employees are encouraged to get the most out of each talk through group discussions and asking questions. Each attendee also receives a free digital handbook with useful information and practical tools to help them to take control of their finances.
Money Skills for Life is developed and delivered independently of banks and other financial service providers, providing a trusted and reliable source of information for employees.
Organisations can request a Money Skills for Life seminar by completing the online booking form. Additional information is available by emailing bookings@ccpc.ie or calling 01-470 3615.
