If the supplier will not refund your money and you paid using a credit or debit card, your card provider \u2013 usually your bank &#8211; may agree to reverse the transaction. This is called a <span class='tooltipsall tooltip_post_id_custom_e8f95edd9ba7a6767c85b3961ced4242 classtoolTipsCustomShortCode' style='border-bottom:2px dotted #888;'>chargeback<\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\">jQuery(\"document\").ready(function(){ toolTips('.tooltip_post_id_custom_e8f95edd9ba7a6767c85b3961ced4242','A chargeback is a reversal of a disputed sales transaction on a credit or debit card\\. For example, you can contact your card provider to ask them to refund the cost of a purchase if you paid for goods you did not receive or never ordered or if a business fails to cancel recurring payments\\. The card provider will decide if you are entitled to a refund based on the circumstances\\. Every provider has specific timeframes and conditions attached to their chargeback facility'); });<\/script>.<\/p>\n<p>In order to start a chargeback, you should contact your bank or credit card provider immediately. Give them details of the disputed transaction and request that they follow it up.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the debit or credit card scheme \u2013 i.e. Visa or MasterCard &#8211; there are different terms and conditions in relation to chargebacks. Most schemes offer full chargeback rights but there can be specific timeframes for requesting a chargeback, such as 120 or 180 days after the transaction takes place or the agreed date of delivery.
