Consumer Protection Guidelines for Mobile Phone Traders
The CCPC’s mission is to make markets work better for consumers and businesses. We promote compliance with competition and consumer protection legislation throughout the economy by helping businesses take active steps to comply with the law.
In addition to our enforcement role, we have a mandate to promote competition and consumer welfare. The CCPC is empowered to publish Guidelines to inform and assist traders in understanding their obligations under consumer protection law.
These Guidelines are directed at traders who sell mobile phones to consumers. The Guidelines are intended to cover transactions between businesses and consumers only and are not intended to cover contracts between businesses or contracts between consumers.
These Guidelines will assist mobile phone traders in understanding the applicable consumer protection legislation and the obligations placed on them when concluding contracts with consumers for mobile phone handsets with or without an electronic communications service.Return to Guidelines for Business
